Q: Do you offer samples
A:We no longer offer samples. We monitored the samples sent and come to the realization that if someone wanted just one of an item they asked for a sample and then they got that item for free. We have sent hundreds in samples and hardly any return. So keep the low prices, we can no longer offer samples.
Q: How much is shipping? / Do you offer expedited shipping?
A: We have several shipping options you can select in our shopping cart. We have as fast as next day. You must select United States, Domestic Shipping and put in your zip code to get all the shipping options.
Q: If I'm not comfortable giving my credit card info online, should I call the order in?
A: Our website is regulated, encrypted and inspected on a regular basis to ensure security. Even after a sale, we still don't have access to credit card info. HOWEVER, if you call an order in, you are giving over the phone all the inforation needed for someone to use your card. Not that we would do so but all it takes is a driver/visitor to see the note on our desk and slip it in their pocket. IT IS MOST SECURE TO USE YOUR CARD ON THE WEBSITE.
Q: The shipping cost is more than I expected. Can't you use a flat-rate box? Can't you put it in an envelope?
A: Our prices are lower than suggested retail. Many customers take advantage of the lower prices to buy larger volume. For small orders, there is not enough profit to cover the shipping expenses and materials. For this reason we have a minimum shipping fee. This is better for you the customer than a minimum order.
We do use flat-rate boxes. An online shopping cart does not know that an item can fit in a certain box. It only knows the weight and the rate of a shipping service from here to there.
We will not put an item in an envelope with a stamp. Putting product in an envelope makes it a package and is subject to package pricing through the USPS. If we put an item in an envelpe with a stamp it will either arrive "postage due" for the package fee or it will come back to us in a zip top bag after it jammed in the sorting machine.
Q: If I call in an order, can I get a better price/shipping rate?
A: No. If you call in an order, we go on the website and enter the information for you. The order is subject to the same pricing you will see online. The advantage in doing the order yourself is you can consider the various options and shipping services and accurately enter information during check out.
Q: I created an account and ordered previous but it will not find my account or order.
A: We had problems with our server host and was having many down times and lost info. So we move to the carts makers own server for better reliability. In problems with previous server and the move some of the customer and previous orders were lost. So you may have to create a new account. We do have a hard copy of all your invoices however.
Q: I have ordered previous but signed in as a guest. Now when I try to order it sends me in circles trying to sign in.
A: The in 2009 there was a glitch that an account was created for a guest. The guest did not know their email was registered to an account. Now you can not get in again to order. Send me a brief not with your name and email address and I can eaisly fix that problem. This will only happen from the guest orders from approximately Sept and Oct. of 2009
Q: Do you accept Purchase Orders.
A: We no longer accept purchse orders. Too many organizations didn't pay their invoice or we spent too much time chasing down the payment. Due to this, all orders need to be paid via credit card.
Q: How long does it take to receive a package shipped International.
A: We have found that customs is the determining factor in how long a package takes to be delivered. We have had packages delivered in many different countries from a few days to about 4 weeks.
Q: I am an international customer. Is there anything I should know about shipping costs.
A: * Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer’s responsibility.
* Please check with your country’s customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to buying.”
* “These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – do not confuse them for additional shipping charges.”
* “We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as ‘gifts’ - US and International government regulations prohibit such behavior.”
Q: What are the streaks on the plating.
A: In the USA we have safety regulations that require that plating of nickel and brass must be a water base. So the spots you see are water stains. They will clean off by rubbing or with some brass cleaner. This regulation is to protect the enviorment and the worker doing the plating.
